RAM is considered temporary storage as all the data it holds gets removed when you shut down your system. Because RAM is only temporary storage for the processor, it does not hold files like documents or pictures. But, it has a positive impact on the speed of your server. Some RAM is mandatory in order for a computer to boot up. The clock speed of the RAM is predetermined through the specifications from the motherboard, while the actual storage size is dictated by the OS. Your server RAM stores random bits of information for the CPU to use for executing commands. If you are ever in doubt, just know that it is impossible to have too much RAM!

Always order computer parts from a site you know when you buy your parts online. It is in your best interest to double-check the manufacturers part number before placing an order for a new RAM. Intel SR1325TP1-E RAM will be better for your server in factory new condition because of wear and tear on an older one. The Intel server will be better off for buying the right part!
