WiFi, or wireless internet, uses an adapter in order to connect to your home network. Most new Wifi adapters are simply plug and play, in that you just plug it in the USB port and the OS will handle everything from there. You are better off buying a common WiFi USB adapter and install it, than to replace any built-in adapter your laptop may have. Buying a wireless adapter is quite easy because the only thing you have to know is what OS you are running on your Lenovo laptop.
