Lenovo IdeaCentre Q110 Video Card
Integrated, or onboard, graphics are not as good as dedicated graphic cards, generally speaking. There are really only two kinds of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated cards are built-in to the computer itself, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Dedicated video cards are required for high-end games on the desktop like Overwatch, Battlefield or Far Cry. Most newer computers will have at least one PCIe slot open for a video card to be added to the system. All video cards processes graphics and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where it is displayed for you. Today, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is in second.
What are some indications that my display adapter is crapping out?
- The monitor displays fragmented images
- The Lenovo IdeaCentre Q110 reboots when starting a graphic intensive program
- The display does not turn on as you attempt to boot up
- A driver for the video card has problems installing like it should
