Lenovo N300 Video Card

There are two types of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated graphics are integrated into the motherboard itself, while dedicated is a separarate piece of hardware that gets installed. A video card computes and renders images to the monitor where it is displayed for you. Almost all newer desktops will have at least one PCIe slot open for a graphics card to be added to the system. A dedicated graphics card is typically a required piece of hardware for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Mass Effect, Grand Theft Auto or Battlefield. Integrated video cards will never be better than dedicated graphic cards, in general. Today, nVidia rules the dedicated video card market, while AMD is sitting in second place.
