Lenovo NetVista 6648 Ram
Random Access Memory, RAM, stores pieces of data that the computer uses for executing commands. Due to the fact that RAM is temporary storage for the processor, it does not have the ability to store files such as documents or pictures. But, it has more to do with the speed of the computer. Random Access Memory is considered volatile memory as all the information held gets removed every time your turn the computer off. RAM is necessary for your desktop to even boot. The RAM speed is predetermined through the specifications from the motherboard, while the size is dictated by the operating system. If you are ever in doubt, just know that more RAM is a lot better than less RAM!
How do you know if your stick of RAM is failing?
- The desktop screen will not display correctly when you start your desktop
- The software does not display the correct memory size
- Nothing happens when trying to start your system
- The OS produces access errors on your desktop as you use it
