Lenovo ThinkCentre 1664 Ram
The clock speed of the RAM is predetermined through the specifications from the motherboard, and the minimum storage size is determined by the software. The RAM in your computer stores random bits of data for the CPU to use for programs. Due to the fact that RAM is temporary storage for the CPU, it does not have the ability to store files such as programs or emails. But, it has more to do with the speed of your desktop. RAM is considered volatile memory as its storage is blanked out when you shut down your system. Your desktop will do nothing at all without the necessary RAM properly installed. If you are ever in doubt, remember that you can never have too much RAM.
Signals the RAM should be replaced
- The OS does not report the correct amount of memory installed
- Nothing happens as you power on your system
- The OS produces random reboots on your desktop intermittently
- The main screen will not display anything when booting up
