Lenovo ThinkCentre 1837 Video Card
A dedicated graphics card is typically a required piece of hardware for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Mass Effect, Grand Theft Auto or Battlefield. Both an integrated and dedicated video card processes graphics and renders images to the monitor where it is displayed for you. Most new desktops should have at least one PCI Express slot available for a video card to be installed on the motherboard. Today, nVidia rules the dedicated video card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. There are two types of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated graphics are integrated into the motherboard itself, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Integrated, or onboard, graphics are not as good as dedicated graphic cards, in general.
Cues of a declining video graphics card
- The monitor produces stretched or elongated pictures
- Your Lenovo reboots when trying to start up a graphic intensive game
- The display does not show up when booting up
- The driver has issues installing like it should
