Most newer computers will have at least one PCIe slot open for a graphics card to be installed on the motherboard. A video card processes the input and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where it is displayed for you. A dedicated graphics card is typically a required piece of hardware for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Far Cry, World of Warcraft or Battlefield. There are two types of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated is built into the motherboard, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board.
