Lenovo ThinkCentre 2011 Video Card

There are really only two kinds of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated graphics are integrated into the motherboard itself, while a dedicated graphics card is an individual piece of hardware that is bought and installed separately. Most newer computers will have at least one spot available for a dedicated video card to be installed on the motherboard. Integrated display adapters are not as good as dedicated graphic cards, in general. A video card processes the input and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where you can see the results. Currently, graphics card maker nVidia is the most popular in the dedicated card market, while AMD is in second. A dedicated graphics card is necessary for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Overwatch, Battlefield or Far Cry.
