Lenovo ThinkCentre 2491 Ram
Random Access Memory, RAM, stores random bits of information that the computer uses for programs. Because RAM is only temporary storage for the processor, it does not have the ability to store files such as programs or emails. But, it does have a correlation to the speed of your desktop. The RAM speed is prescribed within the specifications from the motherboard, and the minimum storage size is determined by the OS. Some RAM is mandatory even for your desktop to run. RAM is a type of volatile memory as all the information held gets removed when you shut down your system. If you are ever in doubt, remember that bigger is always better!
Signs of a defective RAM memory
- The system does not display the right amount of memory installed
- Emptiness fills the air when trying to boot up your desktop
- The screen will not display correctly when starting up
- The system produces random errors on your desktop intermittently
