Lenovo ThinkCentre 3240 Video Card
A dedicated graphics card is usually necessary for any high-end games you play on a desktop like Mass Effect, Grand Theft Auto or Battlefield. There are really only two kinds of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated graphics are integrated into the motherboard itself, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Most newer computers will have at least one spot available for a video card to be installed. Integrated video cards are almost never as good as dedicated graphic cards, generally speaking. A video card processes graphics and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where you can see the results. At the moment, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is sitting in second place.
Subtle hints your desktop graphics card needs replacing ASAP
- Your display produces bits and pieces of the desktop
- The Lenovo ThinkCentre 3240 reboots when starting a game
- Nothing seems to come on when booting up
- The video card driver does not seem to install fully
