Lenovo ThinkCentre 3298 Video Card
At the moment, nVidia rules the dedicated video card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. There are really only two kinds of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated cards are built-in to the computer itself, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Almost all newer desktops should have at least one PCI Express slot available for a dedicated video card to be added to the system. Integrated display adapters will never be better than dedicated graphic cards, generally speaking. Both an integrated and dedicated video card processes the input and renders images to the monitor where it is displayed for you. A dedicated graphics card is pretty much required for high-end games on the desktop like Overwatch, Battlefield or Far Cry.
Signals the display adapter should need replacing
- The graphics on your screen displays vertical or striped lines
- The Lenovo ThinkCentre 3298 restarts when trying to start up a graphic intensive game
- The screen does not always turn on as you boot the PC
- The driver has issues installing all the way
