Lenovo ThinkCentre 3394 Video Card

There are really only two kinds of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated graphics are integrated into the motherboard itself, while a dedicated graphics card is an individual piece of hardware that is bought and installed separately. A dedicated graphics card is typically a required piece of hardware for high-end games on the desktop like Mass Effect, Grand Theft Auto or Battlefield. A graphics card processes graphics and sends the rendered images to a monitor where it is displayed for you. Today, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is in second. Most new desktops will have at least one spot available for a video card to be installed on the motherboard. Integrated display adapters will never be better than a separate video card, in general.
