Lenovo ThinkCentre 3493 Video Card

There are really only two kinds of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. An integrated graphic card is built-in to the main board, while a dedicated graphics card is an individual piece of hardware that is bought and installed separately. Integrated display adapters are almost never as good as a separate video card, in general. A graphics card processes graphics and sends the rendered images to a monitor where you can see the results. Most new desktops should have at least one PCI Express slot available for a dedicated video card to be added to the system. A dedicated graphics card is required for high-end games on the desktop like Far Cry, World of Warcraft or Battlefield. At the moment, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is in second.
