Lenovo ThinkCentre 4162 Wifi
Searching for a new adapter is simple because the only thing you have to know is the current operating system on your desktop. The WiFi in your desktop, if so equipped, uses a piece of hardware in order to connect to your router. Most USB wireless adapters are plug-n-play, in that you just plug it in the USB port and the system will install the drivers automatically. It will be easier to buy a common WiFi USB adapter and just plug it in, than to replace any built-in adapter your desktop may have.
Important clues to watch for in a bad onboard WiFi
- The WiFi adapter driver shows it as not installed
- Your wireless internet connection disconnects itself every day
- The wireless adapter in your Lenovo desktop does not connect at all
