Lenovo ThinkCentre 4503 Video Card
There are two types of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated cards are built-in to the computer itself, while a dedicated graphics card is an individual piece of hardware that is bought and installed separately. Almost all newer desktops should have at least one PCI Express slot available for a video card to be installed. A graphics card computes and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where you can see the results. Today, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is in second. Dedicated video cards are necessary for high-end games on the desktop like Far Cry, World of Warcraft or Battlefield. Integrated video cards will never be better than dedicated graphic cards, generally speaking.
What are the signs that the desktop video card is about to go out?
- Your display produces lines
- The Lenovo ThinkCentre 4503 crashes when trying to start up a graphic intensive game
- The screen does not always show up as you boot the PC
- A driver for the video card has issues installing properly
