Lenovo ThinkCentre 5526 Video Card
There are really only two kinds of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated graphics are integrated into the motherboard itself, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Most new desktops will have at least one spot available for a graphics card to be added to the system. A video card processes the input and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where it is displayed for you. Today, graphics card maker nVidia is the most popular in the dedicated video card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. Integrated, or onboard, graphics are almost never as good as a dedicated video card, in general. Dedicated video cards are pretty much required for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Mass Effect, Grand Theft Auto or Battlefield.
Some warnings the video graphics card will eventually need to be replaced
- The monitor displays nothing
- Your Lenovo restarts when starting a graphic intensive program
- The screen does not always come on when starting the computer
- The video card driver fails to install properly
