Lenovo ThinkCentre 6258 Video Card
Most new desktops will have at least one spot available for a graphics card to be added to the system. A graphics card processes graphics and renders images to the monitor where it is displayed for you. There are really only two kinds of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. An integrated graphic card is built-in to the main board, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Integrated video cards are not as good as a separate video card, generally speaking. Dedicated video cards are usually necessary for high-end games on the desktop like Battlefield, Fortnite or Far Cry. At the moment, graphics card maker nVidia is the most popular in the dedicated card market, while AMD is in second.
Cues to watch for in a failing graphics card
- Your display produces bits and pieces of the desktop
- The Lenovo ThinkCentre 6258 reboots when starting a game
- The display does not turn on when starting the computer
- A driver for the video card does not seem to install like it should
