Lenovo ThinkCentre 6667 Ram
RAM is necessary even for your desktop to even boot. RAM stores random bits of data that the CPU is currently using for applications. The speed of the RAM is predetermined through the specs of the motherboard, and the minimum storage size is dictated by the software. Due to the fact that RAM is temporary storage for the CPU, it does not hold files like documents or pictures. Instead, it has more to do with the speed of the computer. Random Access Memory is considered temporary storage as all the information held gets erased when you shut down your system. If there is ever a doubt, just know that it is impossible to have too much RAM!
Major warnings of an ailing stick of RAM
- The OS does not report the correct amount of RAM as it should
- Silence as you boot up your system
- The main screen does not turn on when booting up
- You tend to have access errors on your desktop intermittently
