Lenovo ThinkCentre 8095 Video Card
Almost all newer desktops will have at least one PCIe slot open for a dedicated video card to be installed on the motherboard. There are two types of video cards, integrated and dedicated. An integrated graphic card is built-in to the main board, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Currently, graphics card maker nVidia is the most popular in the dedicated video card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. Dedicated video cards are required for high-end games on the desktop like Overwatch, Battlefield or Far Cry. Integrated, or onboard, graphics will never be better than a separate video card, in general. Both an integrated and dedicated video card processes graphics and sends the rendered images to a monitor where it is displayed for you.
What red flags are there that my graphics card is in need of a replacement?
- The monitor displays vertical or striped lines
- Your Lenovo reboots when trying to start up a graphic intensive game
- The screen does not always turn on as you attempt to boot up
- The driver has issues installing correctly
