Lenovo ThinkCentre 8096 Video Card
There are really only two kinds of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated is built into the motherboard, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Today, graphics card maker nVidia is the most popular in the dedicated card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. Integrated, or onboard, graphics are almost never as good as a separate video card, in general. A dedicated graphics card is pretty much required for any high-end games you play on a desktop like Far Cry, World of Warcraft or Battlefield. Most new desktops will have at least one spot available for a dedicated video card to be installed. All video cards computes and renders images to the monitor where it is displayed for you.
Signs of an ineffective video card
- The graphics on your screen produces weird colors or images
- The Lenovo ThinkCentre 8096 reboots when beginning a game
- Nothing seems to come on when starting the computer
- A driver for the video card has problems installing fully
