Lenovo ThinkCentre 8105 Video Card
A graphics card processes graphics and sends the rendered images to a monitor where you can see the results. Integrated, or onboard, graphics are almost never as good as a dedicated video card, generally speaking. At the moment, graphics card maker nVidia is the most popular in the dedicated video card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. There are two types of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated is built into the motherboard, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Dedicated video cards are necessary for any high-end games you play on a desktop like Far Cry, World of Warcraft or Battlefield. Most newer computers will have at least one PCIe slot open for a video card to be added to the system.
Do you know if your video graphics card needs replacing?
- Your display displays nothing
- Your Lenovo reboots when trying to start up a graphic intensive game
- The display does not come on when starting up
- The video card driver cannot install properly
