Lenovo ThinkCentre 8131 Video Card

There are two types of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated cards are built-in to the computer itself, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. All video cards processes the input and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where it is displayed for you. Almost all newer desktops will have at least one spot available for a dedicated video card to be installed on the motherboard. A dedicated graphics card is pretty much required for high-end games on the desktop like Far Cry, World of Warcraft or Battlefield. Integrated display adapters will never be better than a separate video card, generally speaking. Currently, nVidia rules the dedicated video card market, while AMD is in second.
