Lenovo ThinkCentre 8165 Ram
Random Access Memory, RAM, stores pieces of data that the central processing unit uses for applications. RAM is considered temporary storage as all the information held gets blanked out every time your turn the computer off. RAM is necessary for a computer to run correctly. The clock speed of the RAM is dictated by the specs of the motherboard, while the size is dictated by the OS. Due to the fact that RAM is temporary storage for the processor, it does not have the ability to store files such as text documents or movies. But, it will impact the speed of the computer. If there is ever a doubt, just know that it is impossible to have too much RAM!
Some clues of an inadequate RAM board
- The OS does not report the correct amount of RAM as it should
- The screen will not turn on when booting up
- Silence as you boot up your system
- You get a lot of random reboots on your desktop intermittently
