Lenovo ThinkCentre 8171 Video Card

Most new desktops should have at least one PCI Express slot available for a graphics card to be installed on the motherboard. Dedicated video cards are pretty much required for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Mass Effect, Grand Theft Auto or Battlefield. There are two types of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated is built into the motherboard, while dedicated is a separarate piece of hardware that gets installed. Today, graphics card maker nVidia is the most popular in the dedicated card market, while AMD is in second. Both an integrated and dedicated video card computes and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where it is displayed for you. Integrated, or onboard, graphics are not as good as a separate video card, in general.
