Lenovo ThinkCentre 8213 Ram
Random Access Memory, RAM, stores pieces of information for the CPU to use for programs. RAM is necessary in order for your desktop to run at all. The RAM speed is predetermined through the specifications from the motherboard, while the size is guided by the system software. RAM is actually temporary storage as all the information held gets erased when the system shuts down. Due to the fact that RAM is temporary storage for the processor, it does not hold files like text documents or movies. But, it will impact the speed of the computer. If you are unsure about the size of the RAM to buy, just know that it is impossible to have too much RAM!
How do you know when your desktop memory is in need of a replacement?
- The main screen does not light up when booting up
- The system does not show the correct amount of memory installed
- Silence as you try to power on your system
- You may get quite a few random reboots on your desktop intermittently
