Lenovo ThinkCentre 8326 Video Card
A graphics card processes graphics and sends the rendered images to a monitor where it is displayed for you. Today, graphics card maker nVidia is the most popular in the dedicated card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. A dedicated graphics card is usually necessary for any high-end games you play on a desktop like Overwatch, Battlefield or Far Cry. There are really only two kinds of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated graphics are integrated into the motherboard itself, while dedicated is a separarate piece of hardware that gets installed. Most newer computers will have at least one PCIe slot open for a video card to be installed on the motherboard. Integrated, or onboard, graphics are not as good as a dedicated video card, in general.
Signs to watch for in a failing display card
- The graphics on your screen shows fragmented images
- Your Lenovo crashes when trying to start up a graphic intensive game
- The screen does not always come on as you attempt to boot up
- A driver for the video card has issues installing like it should
