Lenovo ThinkCentre 8342 Ram
Random Access Memory is considered volatile memory as all the information held gets removed every time your turn the computer off. Your desktop will not boot without having the RAM installed. Your desktop RAM stores random bits of data that the central processing unit uses for executing commands. The clock speed of the RAM is imposed within the specs of the motherboard, while the actual storage size is governed by the system software. Because RAM is only temporary storage for the CPU, it does not have the ability to store files such as programs or emails. Instead, it does have a correlation to the speed of the computer. If there is ever a doubt, just be sure to remember that you can never have too much RAM in your system.
What are the indications that my stick of RAM is failing?
- The screen does not display correctly when you start your desktop
- You get a lot of random reboots on your desktop as you use it
- Silence as you start your system
- The main operating system cannot report the right RAM size
