Lenovo ThinkCentre 8413 Video Card
Most new desktops will have at least one spot available for a video card to be added to the system. There are really only two kinds of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated cards are built-in to the computer itself, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Dedicated video cards are pretty much required for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Far Cry, World of Warcraft or Battlefield. Today, graphics card maker nVidia is the most popular in the dedicated card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. Integrated, or onboard, graphics are not as good as dedicated graphic cards, in general. A video card processes graphics and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where you can see the results.
What are the indications that my Lenovo video card is about to go out?
- The monitor depicts bits and pieces of the desktop
- The computer crashes when beginning a game
- Nothing seems to show up as you boot the PC
- The driver does not seem to install fully
