Lenovo ThinkCentre 8711 Video Card

There are really only two kinds of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated graphics are integrated into the motherboard itself, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Integrated, or onboard, graphics are almost never as good as dedicated graphic cards, generally speaking. Almost all newer desktops should have at least one PCI Express slot available for a video card to be installed. Dedicated video cards are necessary for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Overwatch, Battlefield or Far Cry. Both an integrated and dedicated video card computes and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where it is displayed for you. At the moment, nVidia rules the dedicated video card market, while AMD is sitting in second place.
