Lenovo ThinkCentre 8976 Video Card
A dedicated graphics card is typically a required piece of hardware for any high-end games you play on a desktop like Battlefield, Fortnite or Far Cry. A graphics card computes and renders images to the monitor where it is displayed for you. Most new desktops will have at least one PCIe slot open for a video card to be installed on the motherboard. At the moment, nVidia rules the dedicated video card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. There are two types of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. An integrated graphic card is built-in to the main board, while a dedicated graphics card is an individual piece of hardware that is bought and installed separately. Integrated, or onboard, graphics will never be better than a dedicated video card, generally speaking.
What are the indications that my video graphics card is failing?
- The monitor depicts weird colors or images
- The desktop freezes when starting a game
- The display does not turn on as you boot the PC
- The video card driver has problems installing fully
