Lenovo ThinkCentre 8982 Wifi
Searching for a new adapter is simple because the only thing you have to know is the current operating system on your desktop. You are better off buying a common WiFi USB adapter and install it, than to replace any built-in adapter your desktop may have. A lot of newer wireless adapters are plug-n-play, in that you just plug it in the USB port and the OS will install the drivers on its own. The WiFi in your desktop, if so equipped, uses an adapter to communicate with your home router.
