Lenovo ThinkCentre 9071 Video Card

A video card processes the input and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where you can see the results. There are really only two kinds of video cards, integrated and dedicated. An integrated graphic card is built-in to the main board, while dedicated is a separarate piece of hardware that gets installed. Integrated, or onboard, graphics will never be better than a dedicated video card, generally speaking. A dedicated graphics card is necessary for any high-end games you play on a desktop like Far Cry, World of Warcraft or Battlefield. Most newer computers will have at least one spot available for a dedicated video card to be added to the system. At the moment, graphics card maker nVidia is the most popular in the dedicated card market, while AMD is in second.
