Lenovo ThinkCentre 9089 Video Card
A video card computes and renders images to the monitor where you can see the results. Almost all newer desktops will have at least one spot available for a video card to be added to the system. A dedicated graphics card is typically a required piece of hardware for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Battlefield, Fortnite or Far Cry. Currently, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. There are really only two kinds of video cards, integrated and dedicated. An integrated graphic card is built-in to the main board, while dedicated is a separarate piece of hardware that gets installed. Integrated, or onboard, graphics are not as good as dedicated graphic cards, in general.
What are the signs that the Lenovo video card really needs to be replaced?
- The monitor shows fragmented images
- The PC crashes when starting a game
- Nothing seems to turn on when starting the computer
- The video card driver does not seem to install all the way
