Lenovo ThinkCentre 9142 Video Card
Currently, graphics card maker nVidia is the most popular in the dedicated video card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. Almost all newer desktops will have at least one spot available for a video card to be installed on the motherboard. Dedicated video cards are pretty much required for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Mass Effect, Grand Theft Auto or Battlefield. Both an integrated and dedicated video card processes the input and renders images to the monitor where it is displayed for you. Integrated, or onboard, graphics will never be better than a separate video card, in general. There are really only two kinds of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated is built into the motherboard, while a dedicated graphics card is an individual piece of hardware that is bought and installed separately.
Simple signals the video graphics card is failing
- The monitor produces fragmented images
- Your Lenovo crashes when trying to start up a graphic intensive game
- Nothing seems to show up as you boot the PC
- The video card driver has problems installing fully
