Lenovo ThinkCentre 9212 Video Card
Most new desktops should have at least one PCI Express slot available for a dedicated video card to be added to the system. Integrated, or onboard, graphics will never be better than dedicated graphic cards, generally speaking. There are two types of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated graphics are integrated into the motherboard itself, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. A dedicated graphics card is pretty much required for high-end games on the desktop like Overwatch, Battlefield or Far Cry. Currently, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. A video card computes and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where it is displayed for you.
Key indicators that my graphics card has to be replaced?
- Your display shows lines
- The Lenovo ThinkCentre 9212 restarts when starting a graphic intensive program
- The display does not come on when booting up
- The video card driver has problems installing fully
