Lenovo ThinkCentre 9383 Video Card
A dedicated graphics card is usually necessary for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Far Cry, World of Warcraft or Battlefield. Today, nVidia rules the dedicated video card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. There are really only two kinds of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated cards are built-in to the computer itself, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Almost all newer desktops will have at least one PCIe slot open for a video card to be installed. All video cards processes graphics and sends the rendered images to a monitor where you can see the results. Integrated display adapters are not as good as a dedicated video card, in general.
Clues of a weak desktop video card
- The monitor displays bits and pieces of the desktop
- The Lenovo ThinkCentre 9383 restarts when starting a graphic intensive program
- The display does not turn on as you boot the PC
- A driver for the video card fails to install all the way
