Lenovo ThinkCentre 9488 Ram
RAM is considered volatile memory as all the information held gets removed every time you turn your desktop off. Random Access Memory, RAM, stores random bits of information for the CPU to use for programs. The RAM speed is dictated by the specs of the motherboard, and the minimum storage size is dictated by the OS. Some RAM is mandatory in order for a computer to run. Due to the fact that RAM is temporary storage for the CPU, it does not hold files like programs or emails. But, it has more to do with the overall speed and quickness of your Lenovo. If you are unsure about the size of the RAM to buy, just know that it is impossible to have too much RAM!
Important hints your RAM is on its last leg
- The system does not display the right amount of memory installed
- The main screen does not turn on when starting up
- You may get quite a few random reboots on your desktop throughout the day
- Nothing happens when trying to boot up your desktop
