Lenovo ThinkCentre 9489 Video Card
There are two types of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated cards are built-in to the computer itself, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Currently, graphics card maker nVidia is the most popular in the dedicated card market, while AMD is in second. Integrated, or onboard, graphics will never be better than a separate video card, generally speaking. Both an integrated and dedicated video card processes the input and sends the rendered images to a monitor where it is displayed for you. Most new desktops will have at least one PCIe slot open for a dedicated video card to be installed on the motherboard. Dedicated video cards are usually necessary for high-end games on the desktop like Overwatch, Battlefield or Far Cry.
Some clues the video graphics card is in dire straights
- The graphics on your screen displays nothing
- Your Lenovo crashes when trying to start up a graphic intensive game
- Nothing seems to show up when starting the computer
- The video card driver has issues installing all the way
