Lenovo ThinkCentre 9649 Video Card
There are two types of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated graphics are integrated into the motherboard itself, while dedicated is a separarate piece of hardware that gets installed. At the moment, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. Integrated video cards are almost never as good as dedicated graphic cards, in general. Almost all newer desktops will have at least one spot available for a dedicated video card to be installed. A video card processes graphics and sends the rendered images to a monitor where it is displayed for you. A dedicated graphics card is required for any high-end games you play on a desktop like Overwatch, Battlefield or Far Cry.
What are the indications that my Lenovo video card is in need of replacing?
- The graphics on your screen shows nothing
- The Lenovo ThinkCentre 9649 crashes when starting a game
- Nothing seems to turn on when booting up
- The driver does not seem to install like it should
