Lenovo ThinkCentre A63 Video Card
Dedicated video cards are required for high-end games on the desktop like Mass Effect, Grand Theft Auto or Battlefield. Most new desktops should have at least one PCI Express slot available for a video card to be installed. A graphics card processes graphics and renders images to the monitor where it is displayed for you. There are really only two kinds of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated cards are built-in to the computer itself, while a dedicated graphics card is an individual piece of hardware that is bought and installed separately. At the moment, nVidia rules the dedicated video card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. Integrated, or onboard, graphics are almost never as good as a dedicated video card, generally speaking.
What signals that my desktop video card will soon go out?
- The monitor displays colors that are all wrong
- The Lenovo ThinkCentre A63 freezes when trying to start up a graphic intensive game
- The display does not turn on as you boot the PC
- The video card driver cannot install properly
