Lenovo ThinkCentre E73Z Video Card
Almost all newer desktops will have at least one spot available for a graphics card to be installed. There are two types of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. An integrated graphic card is built-in to the main board, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Currently, graphics card maker nVidia is the most popular in the dedicated video card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. Integrated display adapters are not as good as dedicated graphic cards, generally speaking. Both an integrated and dedicated video card processes graphics and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where it is displayed for you. A dedicated graphics card is required for any high-end games you play on a desktop like Mass Effect, Grand Theft Auto or Battlefield.
What are some indications that my video graphics card is not working right?
- The monitor shows fragmented images
- The desktop restarts when beginning a game
- The screen does not always show up as you attempt to boot up
- The driver has problems installing correctly
