Lenovo ThinkCentre M78 Ram
Random Access Memory, RAM, stores small bits of data that the central processing unit uses for executing commands. RAM is considered volatile memory as the data it holds is blanked out every time your turn the computer off. The clock speed of the RAM is predetermined through the specs of the motherboard, and the minimum storage size is determined by the operating system. A computer is unable to run without the necessary RAM properly installed. Due to the fact that RAM is temporary storage for the CPU, it does not hold files like documents or pictures. Instead, it has more to do with the overall speed and quickness of your Lenovo. If there is ever a doubt, just know that it is impossible to have too much RAM!
What symptoms are present when the RAM board is crapping out?
- The OS produces random reboots on your desktop throughout the day
- The main operating system does not report the right amount of RAM
- The desktop screen will not turn on when you turn your system on
- Silence when you start your desktop
