Lenovo ThinkCentre S51-8171 Wifi
Finding a WiFi adapter is easy because all you need to know is the current operating system on your desktop. WiFi, or wireless internet, uses a piece of hardware in order to connect to your home router. Most new Wifi adapters are simply plug and play, which just means that you only need to put the adapter into an available USB port and the OS will install the drivers on its own. You are better off buying a new USB adapter and just plug it in, than to replace any built-in adapter your desktop may have.
What are the clues to watch out for to know my wireless card needs to be replaced?
- Your WiFi on your desktop cannot see the SSID coming from your router
- Your WiFi signal drops for no reason during the day
- The desktop wireless driver suddenly shows as uninstalled
