Lenovo ThinkPad 600 Ram
Random Access Memory, RAM, stores random bits of data for the CPU to use for programs. RAM is considered temporary storage as all the data it holds gets deleted when you shut down your system. The clock speed of the RAM is governed by the specs of the motherboard, and the minimum storage size is governed by the software. Having the RAM installed is mandatory for your laptop to run. Because RAM is only temporary storage for the processor, it does not hold files like programs or emails. But, it will impact the speed of your laptop. If you need to buy more RAM and are unsure, remember that bigger is always better!
Major signs of a failing RAM board
- The software does not show the correct RAM size
- You may get quite a few random errors on your laptop as you use it
- The screen will not display anything when starting up
- Nothing happens when you power on your laptop
