Lenovo ThinkPad R31 Ram
Your laptop RAM stores small bits of information that the CPU is currently using for executing commands. Random Access Memory is considered volatile memory as its storage is deleted when you shut down your system. The speed of the RAM is predetermined through the specifications from the motherboard, and the minimum storage size is determined by the OS. Because RAM is only temporary storage for the CPU, it does not have the ability to store files such as picture or movies. But, it will impact the speed of your laptop. Having the RAM installed is mandatory in order for your laptop to even boot. If you are ever in doubt, just be sure to remember that you can never have too much RAM in your system.
Signs of a dying RAM stick
- The screen will not display correctly when starting up
- The OS produces weird errors showing up on your laptop intermittently
- Nothing happens when attempting to boot up your laptop
- The software does not display the right memory size
