Because Lenovo has been known to use a single AC adapter that is probably used on other similar units, be certain you select the correct one for the ThinkPad T400 model. A universal AC adapter can be used if yours is unavailable or backordered. If buying off-brand, please check on the output of amps and voltage. Upon choosing a replacement adapter, choosing the Lenovo brand one is always going to be the safest and easiest way to go.
