Lenovo ThinkPad T60 Ram
RAM stores small bits of data for the CPU to use for programs. The clock speed of the RAM is governed by the specifications from the motherboard, while the actual storage size is determined by the operating system. Your laptop will not boot without having the RAM installed. Random Access Memory is considered volatile memory as all the information held gets deleted when the system shuts down. Because RAM is only temporary storage for the CPU, it does not have the ability to store files such as picture or movies. Instead, it will impact the speed of your laptop. If you are ever in doubt, just know that more RAM is a lot better than less RAM!
Major warnings of a failing RAM board
- You get a lot of random reboots on your laptop throughout the day
- Silence when trying to start your laptop
- The laptop screen does not display correctly when you turn your system on
- The OS does not report the right amount of memory installed
