Lenovo ThinkPad X230 Ram
Random Access Memory, RAM, stores random bits of information that the computer uses for programs. Some RAM is mandatory for a computer to run at all. RAM is considered temporary storage as its storage is erased every time your turn the computer off. The clock speed of the RAM is predetermined through the specs of the motherboard, while the size is dictated by the operating system. Due to the fact that RAM is temporary storage for the processor, it does not hold files like documents or pictures. But, it does have a correlation to the speed of your laptop. If you are unsure about the size of the RAM to buy, remember that bigger is always better!
How do you know if your RAM stick is not working properly?
- Nothing happens when attempting to power on your system
- The main screen does not light up when booting up
- The OS does not show the right RAM amount
- The system produces errors on your laptop intermittently
