Lenovo ThinkPad Z61t 9448 Ram
Random Access Memory, RAM, stores small bits of data for the CPU to use for executing commands. Because RAM is only temporary storage for the processor, it does not hold files like picture or movies. Instead, it has more to do with the speed of the computer. RAM is necessary for a computer to boot up. Random Access Memory is considered volatile memory as all the data it holds gets blanked out every time you turn your laptop off. The speed of the RAM is predetermined through the specifications from the motherboard, and the minimum storage size is determined by the system software. If there is ever a doubt, just know that it is impossible to have too much RAM!
Clues to watch for to know that your RAM board needs replacing ASAP
- The main screen does not display correctly when booting up
- The software cannot report the correct memory size
- Silence as you try to boot up your system
- You may get quite a few access errors on your laptop as you use it
